Pharmacological and pharmacological effects

It is an active metabolite in the trans OH form as an acidic non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug. It inhibits cyclooxygenase (COX), a rate limiting enzyme in prostaglandin biosynthesis, and inhibits the production of prostaglandins, thereby exerting anti-inflammatory, antipyretic, and analgesic effects. It has no selectivity for constitutive COX (COX1) and inducible COX (COX2).
